Blue Lux was conceptualized in 2006 but not formally founded until 2009. My classroom experience at The University of Alabama carried into my real-life experience in the restaurant, media and event planning industries, and my love for design and marketing flourished.

My background is in marketing/PR/advertising, graphic design, website development, merchandising, community relations, social media, writing and event planning. In my career I have held positions as a Marketing & Promotions Manager for a well-known Atlanta-based restaurant group, as a Graphic Designer and Sales & Marketing Coordinator for an international media research company, and as an event planner for a boutique international marketing and events services company.

The one aspect that has tied my professional experiences together has been my passion for creativity and helping others build their brand or their personal presence.

I love to help people's ideas come to life! If you are looking for something specific or would like to talk in depth about your project, please contact me via email at blueluxstudio{at}gmail{dot}com and I will set up a time to meet with you if you are in the Atlanta area, or chat on the phone.

I live in Atlanta with my Chocolate Labrador Dixon. I spend the rest of my free time with my family, volunteering with numerous organizations in the Atlanta area, hanging out with friends, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, reading, writing, attempting to learn how to cook, and obviously, being creative.

Why Blue Lux? My favorite color is blue. As a child (and well into my teens) my Crayola crayon of choice was cerulean, and it was always the most worn crayon of the box. I went on to college at Alabama and pledged Pi Beta Phi -- our colors were wine and silver blue. The Pi Phi crest has the Latin word LUX, meaning "light," in its center, which I always found to be interesting. When thinking of a company name, I knew I wanted it to be different, something out of the ordinary and all-encompassing of the services I offer. The idea of Blue Lux popped in my mind while driving one day. I went home and Googled it, and found there was no company using the name, and the closest product is a light bulb. It just seemed fitting.

Thank you for stopping by!

xoxo,
Lauren
